If Lyme disease is diagnosed in its early stages, it can be treated with antibiotics, and the outlook for the condition is excellent. Most people will make a full recovery within a couple of daysâ¦problem isâ¦quite often you donât even know youâve been bitten by one!
Molly Girl
This is a public service announcement from my puppy girl. My Molly girl has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. We caught it before any symptoms showed up and have her on antibiotics, so she should be fine, and weâll just need to watch her and have her tested yearly to to check her antibody levels. If you have a dog, no matter where you live, get your dog vaccinated for Lyme disease. I was under the impression that it was not an issue in the Pacific Northwest (so I never had her vaccinated, but it is; not as bad as on the east coast, but itâs still there. Once the animal has the disease, there is no getting rid of it, although it is much easier to keep it in check these days. Iâm not sure what the case is with cats, but I would check on vaccines for them as well.
